Chinese zodiac - year of the dragon

In Chinese astrology, the dragon is one of the twelve signs of the zodiac and represents the earth branch chén, the month of March, the fifth double hour of the day and the element earth.

Since the dragon is a symbol of good luck in China, birth rates usually rise in dragon years, as "dragon children" are said to be particularly lucky.
