And another terrain set: the anti tank ditch

And another terrain set: the anti tank ditch

Published on 20.11.2018

Our terrain show enters the third round! On a large base plate with 32 x 32 nubs rises a camouflaged armor. Inside it is neatly supported with wooden planks and poles. So it offers one of our tank models perfect camouflage and protection against fire.

The four trees on top of the hill can be placeed as you like and we even thought of chain tracks on the ground! Is there only a tank missing, or maybe the camouflage set with branches to cover the vehicle? Both are available on bluebrixx.com within the category "Bluebrixx Specials".

Or do you want to build a completely different hill? Get creative with this great set and build a hilly grove, for example.

This set is now in production, as soon as it's on stock we'll let you know on our the Noppenstein-Blog. Also, do not hesitate to visit us on Facebook and Instagram. There you are able to comment!

SNOT 2.0

SNOT 2.0

Published on 18.11.2018

Do you remember our blog post about SNOT? "Studs not on top". Thanks to various special parts you can turn models by 90 °. So you can create surfaces that look much more realistic than the simple stacking of bricks.

And if you want to turn the knobs by 180 °? Then you need to combine special parts or apply other building tricks. This costs space, which limits the possibilities a bit.

You just need a thin brick that has nubs on both sides ....

Good for all bricks fans that we've thought of that and now we do have it. In each bag are 20 pieces of it. If you want to supplement your stock of bricks with these little all-rounders, you will find the stones here in our shop.

Youtube: new World Trade Center module

Youtube: new World Trade Center module

Published on 16.11.2018

In our second Youtube video, our product developer Marco shows you the first modules of our huge Manhattan construction project. Together, the three modules already contain over 3,000 bricks, in total there will be more than 20.000 parts in 17 modules! He takes a closer look at the second module and explains which interessting sights there are to be discovered in shape of bricks.

In addition to that, he reveals the way he approaches the construction of such huge sets. Instead of digging in a large mountain of parts, he first sorts everything according to colors and shapes. This has something meditative for him and he quickly finds all the parts when building.

And how do you build? Comment on Youtube how you handle larger construction projects. Don't worry: there is no right nor wrong when building, the main thing is having fun!

More terrain for dioramas: the ruined houses

More terrain for dioramas: the ruined houses

Published on 13.11.2018

After the flak position, today we show you a big ruined house, which has it all! Inside, you will find the decor of the previous owners: a grandfather clock, a kitchenette, a bed and other small details. The building offers enough space for some soldiers or armor, and a walled garden adjoins the house. Was it a farmhouse?

Two of the wall corners, the large deciduous tree and the two bushes each stand on their own floor slabs. That makes this terrain set wonderfully modular and you can present it in different ways. A perfect complement to our military Bluebrixx Specials, which will be in production very soon.

True builders can use the parts of this set to build completely different buildings. There are no limits to the imagination when building with bricks!

First Youtube video from the Noppenstein-Studio!

Published on 13.11.2018

Last thursday was the day: Our Noppenstein-Studio went online with its first Youtube video. The 'Noppenstein-Studio' is the German word for bricks-studio.

Marco from our product development department presents the revised Wehrmacht stickers of the Bluebrixx Specials. He also tells you what's important about sticking stickers on bricks. With almost 4 decades of construction experience, he has valuable tips on bricks.

In the future, we will regularly do videos out of the studio and present you news and tricks around bricks. It's best to subscribe to our Youtube channel so you will not miss anything! We also welcome your comments and will frequently ask questions in the videos for which we would like the AFOB community to feedback.

New bunker with flak position goes into production

New bunker with flak position goes into production

Published on 10.11.2018

We are currently receiving a lot of new designs, which we would like to introduce to you in the following days.

The first one is a bunker with flak position which offers space for several soldiers. As a 'big brother' it will complement the one-man bunker. The Flak Vierling 38 was recreated authentically and uses some interesting parts to look as true to the original as possible.

Have you already discovered the two skis?

SNOT - a construction technique for advanced users

SNOT - a construction technique for advanced users

Published on 07.11.2018

Bricks are clingy. Not only do they cling well to our feet when we step on them barefoot, but above all they cling to each other. That's why you can build high with them without everything collapsing. This is made possible by the knob, which sits on most bricks on top and can be stuck into the underside of almost all other bricks.

Advanced builders and more sophisticated sets of bricks use not only the classic stacking of bricks but another technique which is called "SNOT - stud not on top". If you have already built one of our Bluebrixx Specials, you have certainly got to know this construction technique.
There are a lot of special parts, which cause a change in direction of the knobs by 90°.

Without this technique, our realistic models would not be possible, whether it's the skyskrapers of Manhattan or a tank turret. SNOT is indispensable for modern brick sets like Bluebrixx.

Foley Square in final inspection

Foley Square in final inspection

Published on 05.11.2018

Lower Manhattan continues to grow rapidly! We've just showed you the first pics of the World Trade Center module now the next module arrives: The Foley Square.

Here are some important government buildings. The beige skyscraper with the large vents is the AT & T Long Lines Building. It does not have a single window and is considered one of the safest skyscrapers in America. It has it's own gas and water supplies, even an own power generation - a real architectural icon.

The third module and the second take City Hall into their midst. Right next to the eponymous park Foley Square stands the famous Supreme Court, whose module will soon be produced.

If our Manhattan grows much further, we need a bigger photo box here at Bluebrixx!

Are you an AFOB?

Are you an AFOB?

Published on 02.11.2018

You're here, so you're probably an AFOB. We're happy about it.
But what is an AFOB?
The AFOLs have been around for quite some time and stands for "Adult Fans of Lego ®".
While the AFOL is limited to Lego® and just a fan of Lego®, the AFOB likes all models of comparable bricks.

An AFOB is the true fan of Bricks, he is the "Adult Fan of Bricks".
And one thing's for sure, as beautiful as the Lego® models are, and they are undisputed, but the world of bricks is so much bigger, and the AFOB does not have to be limited to just one bricks manufacturer.
So, are you an AFOB already?
