Rhodochrosite

Rhodochrosite, also known as manganese spar, incarose, rose spar or raspberry spar, is a common mineral from the mineral class “carbonates and nitrates”.

Due to its high manganese content (47.8%), rhodochrosite is mainly used as a raw material for the extraction of manganese ore. Since 1950, however, it has also been used more and more as a gemstone - especially when the coloration turns raspberry red.
