Disposal & Recycling

Meaning of the symbol

The crossed-out dustbin symbol indicates that this product must not be disposed of with household waste at the end of its lifespan but must be placed in a separate collection.

Batteries and electrical appliances are full of raw materials such as zinc, iron and nickel, which can be recovered through recycling. Some batteries or electrical appliances contain heavy metals such as cadmium, mercury and lead, which can have harmful effects on the environment and health. Recycling therefore not only helps to conserve resources but also reduces the environmental impact of hazardous substances.

Disposal instructions

Consumers are legally obliged to take batteries and electrical appliances to a suitable collection point. Used batteries and rechargeable batteries should be removed from the appliance beforehand. When disposing of lithium batteries, cover the terminals with tape first – this prevents short circuits. Before disposal, check whether batteries are still functional and whether rechargeable batteries can be reused. You can extend the life of a rechargeable battery by charging it correctly with the appropriate charger and avoiding deep discharge.

Return options

Returns to BlueBrixx

You can return used batteries from our products to any of our BlueBrixx stores in Germany or Austria.

Important: When disposing of lithium batteries, cover the terminals with tape first to prevent short circuits.

Returns at retailers

Used batteries and electrical appliances can be returned to suitable retailers in accordance with the applicable legal requirements. Acceptance may depend, for example, on the type or size of the product, or on the purchase of a corresponding new appliance.

Public collection points

Local authority collection points (e.g. recycling centres) accept electrical appliances or batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge. You can obtain information about collection points from your local authority.
